Happy December!!!
For this blog, I thought I would share my experience during my winter holiday two years ago in London, which was such a great experience for me. By the way, we don’t really celebrate Christmas in China although shopping malls normally have a quite big sale.
The most exciting place in London (for me) was Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. It is definitely a MUST-GO place in London during the Christmas season. It is located in the heart of London in Hyde Park. But, not always! It’s a limited amusement park for only 6 weeks from mid-Nov. to the beginning of January. A wide variety of attractions, activities, entertainment, food, drinks are offered every year. I enjoyed some street food with mulled wine there! Just so amazing, so much fun!!
Another fantastic Christmas memory for me was the Christmas lights. London is literally putting on a fancy citywide show during the Christmas time. From shopping streets, to every square in the city, and inside those beautiful architectures – everywhere is shining.
I took this picture at Regent Street next to Piccadilly Circus. According to my quick research, Regent Street started off this whole Christmas lights tradition back in 1954, with the famous spirits flying above shoppers. Beautiful, right??
Last but not least, I have to mention the Christmas markets. I visited several markets during my stay in London and the most amazing one was Covent Garden. It boasts a range of craft workshops, special festive menus, and street entertainers. Also, the lights and decorations were so gorgeous. Look at my picture, the market was very crowded and everybody was having fun (so different from the situation now…)
Writing this blog made me feel like I’m back to London. Hope we can go travelling soon!
