The other day, I had to go get an annual check-up. Stage Line requires all staff and instructors to get one. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but to my surpriseit wasn’t that bad. I was actually really impressed by the efficiency of the whole process. And indeed it was a PROCESS.There were four stations ? x-ray, hearing and sight, blood and doctor’s office. At each station, they had different nurses/technicians trying to get you in and out at warp speed. Unfortunately for the blood team, I had to ask them some questions. When I got to the blood room, there were only two people in the room. By the time I left, the room was overcrowdedand there weren’t enough seats for all the people. Oops! Things probably would have gone more smoothly if I could speak Japanese well. The poor nurse tried so hard to explain everything to me in simple Japanese so thatI could understand, but it just wasn’t working out for us. Eventually, she gave up and tried speaking English. Her English was actually quite good and it took about 2 minutesto explain everything. I guess she was just too shy to try speaking English./SENDAI Study Advisor Jay
